I like to make this Homemade Mixed Berry Syrup recipe year-round. It uses just three ingredients and adds a burst of berry flavor to your favorite breakfast dishes. Sometimes the simplest recipes add something special to a meal.

Whether you’re preparing a leisurely weekend breakfast or hosting a brunch, this colorful syrup is a wonderful alternative to traditional pancake syrup. The berries simmer with water and sugar to create a fruity topping that’s equally delicious served warm or chilled.

I especially enjoy pairing it with my Pumpkin Oat Pancakes. The sweet berry flavor complements the warm pumpkin spices beautifully, making it a lovely combination for a fall breakfast or brunch.

Notes

This homemade syrup is a delicious way to enjoy their flavor, and making it yourself lets you control the ingredients. A little goes a long way, so start with a small drizzle and add more as desired!
